| Passion with a Plan |
|
Since 1998, WLM has run a Mentoring Network for students. It presents
career opportunities:
 that do not necessarily involve post secondary education
that the students may not be aware of through workshops panel discussions and events.
The Network prepares the students for the workplace of the near future
where they will be seeking their first career. Students new to Canada tell
me that their parent's advice to them is to get a good education and go
into business. When I ask them what "business" means they tell me that
they have no idea. I began to wonder if the parents, newly arrived, knew
what "business" meant in this country.
The adult activities of the network are called Canadian Experience.
Internationally educated and experienced Newcomers are introduced to
Canadians and the Canadian workplace.
Passion with a Plan and Profit
Upcoming events will bring Newcomers and Women Entrepreneurs
together to explore opportunity possibilities: innovative employers networking
with motivated potential employees who have global connections.
